"No bitches it's a Queen celebration...!"

With the lyrical flow of a poet and the gritiness of an MC, Tarica June can most definitely hold a crown. This DC, artist is catching the eyes of many. For all the right reasons. Unlike the majority of female rappers today, she is not blaring about how she rolls as hard as niggas do, and that she can fuck, suck dick and make you cum better than others do. Naw, Ms. June has class and "[she's] fly cuz [she] don't make mindless music". Amen.
Don't get it twisted I rap along the hardest to some Kim (back when Big was writin for her) and Foxxy Brown, but I feel myself the most when I sing//rap along to Lauryn Hill's "Doo-Wop". I have many sides to myself, hence why I pen Dre, have friends that call me Drea, others Andrea, and the dearest and closest Paola my middle name. Tarica appeals to all these, but most importantly to the part of me that strives to be better and push forward, further my education and most importantly my understanding of being me. Plus we have similar style "You can find me in whatever section of the thrift store...finding sumthin flyer then any given couture." She has an edge, a little bit cocky, but proud and showy on the correct shit. She's opinionated and isn't biting her tongue, askin " why they put lullaby's over hot as beats?", *ouch*, yes all you elementary rappers that is to you!
Her mixtape is a must download!!! I only have one song I dislike, and that's "Put On", just isn't doing it for me. I love the rest. From her bad-relationship driven "Love-Hate"..."Love a man like that? What's that say about you!?", I know we all have a friend we wanna play that track for. To "Flyyy" which is my new get ready to song. I love, love, love "Is There", and "Main Topix" touches on some great social/political issues. I need every guy to listen "Crazy Girls", cuz you need to "Stay away from me if you like your girls crazy"! WORD! I don't know if all guys are gonna be able to appreciate her view, but if you do, holla at me, cuz it takes a man to look through the eyes of a female and accept what he sees.
For all my praise I must admit there is one thing I wish she had more of... Emotion. I wish her delivery evoked more feeling from me, because her lyrics are ill, and when I hear them, MAN, they are some real ish. I wanna feel everything she makes me think, and that would complete and seal the deal for me. I must admit that as a self proclaimed spoken word/ hip hop lyricist, I'm surprised by the lack of inflection in her speech. So far Tarica is on the right track to her mission "to be a light in the dark" if she continues I'm sure she will surpass that goal. If not at her plea we will "snatch [her] mic back"
